Arohanui Hospice
A specialist palliative care service that works in collaboration with the Mid-Central Health Hospital Palliative Care Team. LCP research work is carried out within the Education and Research Unit based at Arohanui Hospice.
Examples of Previous Relevant Collective Experience:
· International collaborating centre for New Zealand with Liverpool Central for the Liverpool Care of the Dying Pathway (LCP)
· LCP Pilot with the Mid-Central District Health Board (DHB) – Has involved implementing the LCP across five generalist sites in the DHB region.
· LCP Research project – Arohanui hospice is currently running a research project entitled a multisite qualitative investigation of staff perceptions of end-of-life care pre and post the implementation of an Integrated Care Pathway for the care of the dying patient that is linked to the LCP pilot project.
· Palliative Care Partnership – A collaboration between Compass Health (the regional general practice management organization) to create and support a partnership framework between specialist palliative care and General practice to meet palliative care regionally
